| That’s the hashtag that I started giving the sketches that I began drawing while sitting in church services on Sunday morning. | ![]() |

| I work at a church. During the week I design and publish the weekly newsletter and bulletin, along with updating and maintaining the website and corresponding social media. On Sunday, however, I am in charge of running the Power Point presentation for two worship services. Once you’ve read the sermon, formatted the sermon, and then turned it into slides for the slideshow. . .well, let’s just say bringing my sketchbook to church is TOTALLY WORTH IT. |

Recently my father was diagnosed with Alzheimers. I know. .awful. More awful because my mother is already a paraplegic due to a hiking accident back in 2006. Dad has never been an easy individual to deal with. Mine and my brother’s childhood was filled with tiptoeing around dad’s mood swings. Adding Alzheimers to the mix has (needless to say) made things all the more wonderfully complicated and frustrating. |

| I know that some of my sketches are somewhat juvenile looking. I haven’t religiously sketched since high school. Back then my sketchbook was my constant friend, someone I could turn to and draw out my muddled emotions (you know, all that WONDERFUL stuff that comes from being a teenager). | ![]() |

So, I’m once again utilizing the best therapist that I have and trying to work out all this mess with pencil and pen (and a whole lot of eraser). Best of all, it’s made my Sunday morning experience that much more meaningful. Of course, follow my art on Instagram. | |
